Dakota Place Lodge guests love our location.

Located less than a mile from downtown Medora...close enough to walk and avoid finding parking...but far enough away to be away from the hustle and bustle of this small western town when you need a break away from all the adventures.

We are just minutes away entering the the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It is literally less than a mile away.

Stay with us if you plan to explore OR if you plan to just relax and get away. With our high speed internet, you can even work from our "getaway location".

Dakota Place Lodge is a 4-Plex Unit with North Dakota theme based decor in each of the 4 suites, and a Cabin, which is an exact replica of Theodore Roosevelt's cabin...and we are open ALL YEAR LONG. Medora's busy season with everything open is late spring to late summer. Medora has off-season activities and is continuing to create more as the future of Medora is bright! Exploring the badlands is always in season!

Pick up your map and watch a film at the Medora’s South Unit Visitor Center to help you plan days of fun in the South Unit, especially on the well-known 36 Mile Scenic Loop, filled with fun for all ages and all levels of adventurers. Some hi-lights include Roosevelt’s Maltese Cross Ranch Cabin, Wind Canyon, Buck Hill, Petrified Forest Loop, Painted Canyon Nature Trail, Coal Vein Trail, Peaceful Valley Ranch, Cottonwood Picnic Area, Ridgeline Nature Trail, Boicort Overlook Trail, Maah Daah Hey Trail, Medora Trail Rides, Prairie Dog Towns, Badlands Overlook, Little Missouri River, etc.
